Hols

Hello everyone, Well here we are on holidays...first posting ex-Irlanda. slowly feeling the holiday spirit sink in. takes a while to wind down ...to become accustomed to not having a whole pile to do ... I think Mark is better at this than me - although he sprained his shoulder this morning trying (and managing ) to beat me in a beach race which has forced him to take it easy...no bungee jumping yet.
Try to set ourselves projects to get over the feeling like we should be doing something worthwhile in all our spare time. Not set up to experience this not having anything to do for extended period of time... fell out of practice having holidays...! :0)

It was so green here - surprising on arrival - lots of trees and green fields. Looks a littlel Swiss or Austrian countryside, houses with wide red roofs, like chalets. Bilbao is surrounded by small green hills. First few days in Bilbao went fast and enjoyable. One highlights - eating in Guggenheim restaurant - wish I had had a camera - first dish something of a gastronomic menu was literally grass and sheeps milk!! Tasty though. Waiters possibly thought we were laughing at them!. Notable seriousness of waiters here..it is a serious business afterall... Just like holidaying ..a serious business!

The Guggenheim is really a beautiful and fascinating building, and works well with the surrounding city. Also walking to this park and watched fountains and dogs jumping in them. The fountain plays to music usually, but as it was not playing at the time, spent a few minutes imagining what music the fountain might be dancing to.

Arrived here in San Sebastien/Donostia yesterday by bus from Bilbao
Busier than Bilbao here on arrival, but weather a little greyer (still 25 degrees) and that cleared out the beaches to-day! Planning to get bicycles tomorrow and scoot around..
